This set of specimens is available as an accessory for the WP 500 experimental unit.
The specimen is installed in the experimental area of WP 500. The ends of the specimens have 17 mm hexagons for attachment.
In the experiment, metallic specimens are twisted until they are destroyed by a typical shear fracture. In contrast to the tensile and bending tests, the torsion causes a two-axis stress state. Shear stresses are produced in the specimen which deform it. The deformation is expressed as twisting of the two ends of the specimen towards each other.
The set contains two specimens made of steel, aluminium and two of brass.
